"What If" Pedigrees. How Do I Build One?
To build a "What If" pedigree, follow the instructions below.
Step 1: Find the IDs of the two dogs you'd like to see in the proposed breeding.
The ID can be found in the URL of the dog's home page and starts with the breed abbreviation. Vizslas, for example, start with vz_.
Step 2: Copy the IDs for the sire and dam into the following URL:
http://k9info.com/pdfinfo.php?sireid=[Sire ID]&damid=[Dam ID]
An example is listed below:
http://k9info.com/pdfinfo.php?sireid=vz_se399411&damid=vz_a9479212e43e9
Step 3: Copy the URL into the address bar in your browser.
This will produce a PDF document and it does require that you have a PDF viewer, such as Adobe Acrobat Reader, to view and print it.

I can't find my dog? Can you help?
Can you help me find my dog? is the most frequently asked support question we receive at K9INFO.COM.
For a dog to appear in the K9INFO.COM dog database, it must have been published in one of the data sources we use as a source of our information.
If your dog does not meet any of the following criteria, then it is NOT likely that the dog will be found in the K9INFO.COM dog database:
The dog is a parent of a litter, with that litter having been registered with the American Kennel Club.
The dog has received a title (i.e. Champion, Junior Hunter, Novice Agility, etc...) from the American Kennel Club.
The dog has received a health certification from the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA), or Canine Eye Registration Foundation (CERF).
If your dog DID NOT meet any of the above criteria, then it is unlikely your dog will be found in the K9INFO.COM dog database. If you would like to learn more about adding your dog to the K9INFO.COM dog database, please visit our Products and Services page for more information.

If your dog DID meet any or all of the above criteria, then it is possible that the dog's name has been omitted or spelled in error. We have made every attempt to correct name omissions and misspellings, but due to the volume of data in our database, some problems still exist.
Prior to submitting a customer support request, please perform the following searches to help better identify the source of the error:
Search for your dog's mother or father. If one or both can be found, review the list of descendants of the mother or father to see if your dog is included. Keep in mind that your dog's name might be misspelled. If your dog can be identified from the descendants list, go to the dog's page and submit a customer support request and we will correct the misspelling.
Be less specific in your search. For example, search for McFa instead of McFarland. At a minimum you should expect to see more search results. If your dog is found, but the its contains an error, go to the dog's page and submit a customer support request by clicking on the Do you see an error on this page? link.

If you still cannot locate your dog, please click below to submit a customer support request.

What other breeds are going to be included on K9INFO.COM?
We are constantly working on new breed additions to our database. We do not, however, have a schedule for when a particular breed will be added. We do welcome your input and if you are interested in a particular breed, please e-mail: info@k9info.com with your suggestion(s).

Can you help me find a breeder?

My dog received a title two months ago. Shouldn't it be listed in the K9INFO.COM dog database by now?
Not necessarily. We derive our data from published works and very often there is a two to three month lag from the time when the dog received an award to the time it is actually published. Please be patient with this process. If you are aware that the dog's award was published, please click below to submit a troubleshooting request. Please make certain to provide specific detail of when the award was published.

Are accented characters (i.e. à, ö, etc...) supported in then K9INFO.COM dog database?
No. At this time there is no support for accented characters in the K9INFO.COM dog database.

My dog is registered with the: CKC, UKC, FCI, etc.... Can the dog be added to the K9INFO.COM dog Database?
Yes. This is considered a Name Submission. This submission adds the name of the dog as well as the sire/father and dam/mother to the K9INFO.COM dog database. Optionally, a photo may also be submitted. A copy of the dog's registration certificate is required with this submission. Please click below for more information.

Can you tell me more about the Breeder/Owner Subscription?
The one-year Breeder/Owner Subscription provides breeders and owners an opportunity to display a complete set of their contact information with any or all of their dogs that appear in the K9INFO.COM dog database.
A subscribed breeder or owner will be granted access via username and password to an account to which they can make requests to add their contact information (i.e. full name, kennel name, phone number, etc...) to each dog they've bred or own. This information will be made available to any person who comes across one of the dogs that the breeder or owner has included in their list.
Breeders can use the subscription to point potential buyers to a valuable source of information on the dogs they've bred. Information that not only includes genealogy, but health and achievement data as well.
In addition, breeders and owners who subscribe will be added to the K9INFO.COM Breeder Locator. Potential buyers searching for a particular breed will be presented with a list of subscribed breeders or owners who match their search criteria. The potential buyer will then be able to view the specific details of each of those dogs held by that breeder or owner.
Compare the cost of standard print advertising and the cost of managing your own website and the advantages of the K9INFO.COM Breeder/Owner Subscription become clear. Print advertising cost can exceed several hundred dollars per year and cannot provide the degree of customer reach and dynamic content that the K9INFO.COM Breeder/Owner Subscription can.
Website management is a drain on your time and resources. The K9INFO.COM Breeder/Owner Subscription provides the subscriber with their own home page containing their contact information as well as a list of any dogs they've bred or own. Award and health data are updated automatically.
The only criteria for establishing a Breeder/Owner Subscription is having at least one dog in the K9INFO.COM dog database. If you would like to subscribe, click below for additional information.

Why do you require a copy of the dog's registration or health certification with my submission?
The information you provide helps us establish an authenticity to the data in the K9INFO.COM dog database. We have worked hard to document the source of each piece of information that is displayed on this site and it is our policy that any data that is subsequently added, such as a health certification or title, be suitably documented/proven before that information is officially included in the K9INFO.COM dog database.
Please note that a copy of any form submitted may be made available for public viewing on the dog's home page. Contact information included on any form submitted to K9INFO.COM will be omitted when displayed.

I'm having trouble submitting a photo. Can you help?
Yes. Please review our Photo Submission FAQ for more information.

Are photo or other information submissions a one-time fee?
Yes. Photo submissions and submissions of any other type (i.e. health certifications, title, etc...) are a one-time fee. Once you have submitted a photo, health certification, or title, that information will become part of the permanent record for the dog to which it was submitted. No additional fee will ever be charged to maintain this information.

Can I link photos or other information from K9INFO.COM to my own web site?
No. Linking of any information from K9INFO.COM to another web site is prohibited. Please review our Terms, Conditions, and Notices for further information. If you have questions regarding this policy, please email: info@k9info.com.

I'm not listed as the owner or breeder of record, but I'd like to submit a photo. Will you accept it?
No. We will only accept photos or other information pertaining to a particular dog from the owner or breeder of record. We will, however, accept a photo if your name appears in the history of ownership. If you are the current owner, but not the owner of record, and your name does not appear in the history of ownership, you may submit a change of ownership request. Only following that change will we accept a photo or other information from you. Please click below for further information.
